There are a big time gaps bewteen my last wrok due to the outbreak of coronavirus, I came back home but needed to be hotel isolated for 14 days, bewteen those days I have thought a lot about how the spreaf worries about death so I made these two skull works which is called "glory of death" to thank those doctors and nurses which helped us to save lives and as normal people, death is a natural thing, we should not worry too much.

Then, I combined the researches I did library about jewllery that decorated in bodies, so I made to pieces of skeleton works, they are the works that I think I can call them final outcome, not only because spend long times on them but also I combined my previous ideas and techniques. So I put detailed photos and on the digital outcome page.

Firstly, I used clay to make the two skull model, it has taken me a long time to make them looks perfect this is what I learnt in the first clay work and I used the epoxy to make the crystalline lens, this is based on the experiment I did with toy skeletons and epoxy. And I referred to the book “ Heavenly bodies” link back to my theme ----reconstruct the past.

I am quite pleased with them as I showed them to some of my friends and I have received some positive feedbacks that gives me some confidence to make more related works.

I want to do thing  related to the current time. As at this difficult time whole human being are facing a big challenge. Based on my research of skeleton art, I want to make the theme related to death and past so I did some designs in my sketch book and I choosed the one I'm most pleased with. 

However, after I made the first look based on my design I felt like it has lacked something, so I decided to break it and see how it will come out. 

After I did the painting which is inspired by Pompeii’s wall paintings. I think I could change other medium, maybe closer to the actual materials used in the real wall making processes. Therefore, I chose to use clay, it is my first try to go to the sculpture side so the texture I made on the clay is a bit thoughtless, as I didn’t know what will come out. Anyway, I still enjoy the making processes, as I researched about some skeleton art, I want to use this as my starting point.

After the Research of Pompeii wall painting，I did a painting trying to recur the texture of the damage wall painting. So I chose a different or I should use the word "special" ---- hot chocolate power and flour. 

Therefore，I think the outcome is not very bad, I quite like the grain it shows.  However, I didn't find any content I want to draw. So I think the out come looks a bit plain. 

The three picture above is something I combined with “trace of paint” and skeletons. One day I accidentally discover that if I put drawing inks into epoxy glue it will delaminate. And it also makes the liquid ink become solid. What I put in this work is a drawing ink which looks purple if you just put it on paper, but in the epoxy I can see that there is a orange or pink issh colour and some blue on top. I really like this way to play with ink. 

 Moreover, I chose to put the fake skeleton of cat and dog in and the food bowls etc. things that is necessary to keep pet.  I want to bulid a work that shows animals that has lives were died and buried by the pigments water,but things that don’t have lives still remains.

Howevwe, I don’t think it is a good work because I didn’t consider the colour, the composition and the container, so it looks a bit messy, but I still think this way of making has a lot potential. But I don’t want to make further completed or better piece of this beacuase the material is very expensive and I think I might will waste too much.

reconstruct my previous work

I was looking at my previous work and think about how to reconstruct it. As I already feel very pleased with the work I have done so the one I did after my finished work is more easy but shows the way of constructing it.

I printed my previous work and tear it apart and put it on the the draft work on paper. I think it is a interesting direction to take the project further. I think it would look better if the scale could be bigger.

reconstruct old masters’work

I choose to use Mucha's work is because they are very decorative and somehow looks very modern style just like digital works because of the delicate and sensitive lines.

So I used photoshop to make it looks more old, it is intersting that the original work actually more modern but the digital version I made makes it looks older.

I used PS and works on the original master's work, so this looks very familiar to the original work. Therefore, I don't think it is a successful piece. As one of the artist in my brief is a graphic designer so I think the digital series of works is what I would like to take a bit further.Or maybe after I did some more experiments I would change my mind and use another strategy. 

I found an old illustration work of the sleeping beauty, as the tales are a direction I would like to experiment. So I did a illustration work using the same art form but different styles.

However, I think the composition and elements is a bit plain so if I want to take this idea further I need to think about how to enhance the work by combing different elements and dig deeply into the concepts behind it.

Reconstruct the pigments 

I think there is a certain potential inside the idea of pigments，however，because it is from the geoms and minerals I think I might should change to another paint which may have more texture, rather than normal manufactured watercolour paint or inks. 

Moreover, I think I could change the painting background form normal paper to old woods which could give it a stronger texture. 

In the very first stages I'm not sure about what direction I should go with, so I want to follow my ppp and the research of three difficult artist to start with. The three artist has very different styles, one is sculptor one is performance artist and one is fine artist but her style is somehow close to the graphic. As next year I want to study graphic design so I choose to start with drawings, and what gives me first inspiration is "pigment " the world is full of pigments so reconstruction of pigments have a lot of things to play  with.
